Describe your perfect day
I wake up naturally on a warm summer’s day. The light is streaming through the bedroom window. I get up and take a cup of tea and notebook to the garden. I can hear the birds singing and the bees buzzing as I spend time journaling. I then go for a gorgeous sea swim with my wife and mum, we call ourselves The Wild Caps, followed by delicious blueberry pancakes. Once we’ve chilled for a bit my wife and I take our sausage dog Henry for a long walk in the countryside with a stop off at a cosy pub. Afterwards we come home and play scrabble before having pies for dinner and watching a Scandinavian crime series. All that said, I would also love a cosy day in a cabin somewhere snowy with a log fire, a good book and a glass of red wine. For me life is all about the simple pleasures.
Tea or coffee?
I’m all about decaf green tea at the moment.
How do you unwind after a long day?
Sometimes I like to go to the pub with my wife and other times I like to watch a good murder mystery.

What / who inspires you?
It might sound cheesy but my mum inspires me. She left school with only 1 ‘O’ Level and had me when she was quite young. She worked and studied as a single parent and is now the Deputy Director of Adult Social Care locally. Her motto is ‘never give up’ and that gumption always reminds me that you are capable of some much more than you think. I’m also inspired by activists who are using their voices and identities to effect change in the world. Now more than ever we need people who are ready to reimagine what the world could be like.
This is a tough question because there are so many I love.
Film - Growing up it was Dead Poets Society. I also love a feel-good rom-com especially if it features lgbtq+ characters. Book - Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky Podcast - Tarot for the Wild Soul
Morning or night?
I used to be a night owl but now I love morning sea swims.
What would your desert island disc be?
Truth Hurts by Lizzo.
Describe your dream meal
Hands down vegan lasagne with garlic bread, followed by my mum’s apple crumble with custard.
If you could work anywhere, where would it be?
I would work in different places depending on the season. I would love to live part of the year somewhere cold and snowy like Scotland where I could have my log fire and and wood-fired hot tub. The other part of the year I’d love to live and work somewhere warm with a swimming pool and views of trees. I dream of spending 3 months in Tuscany. As an aside, I’d need to be somewhere where I could easily buy good vegan cake as cake really is my love language.
Curry or Chinese or something else?
I love a good Indian curry.
What did you want to be when you were a child?
For a while I wanted to be a mounted police officer because I loved horses and dreamed of spending hours in the stables.
What's your favourite part of what you do for a job?
I absolutely love having conversations about what’s possible and then helping others to achieve those things in a way that works well for them. I love creating organising and creating systems that make sense as well as make others’ lives easier. Ultimately, I love contributing to positive change and encouraging others to look after their wellbeing in the process.
And finally… Bounty – swerve, or accept?
