Meet-the-team-Owen

Owen is one of the Big Lemon co-founders, he’s the lead dev and enjoys to entertain the studio with his seemingly limitless dad jokes.

Twitter, Facebook or Instagram?

Twitter. @OwenTheTwit. Follow me! Although I don’t post as much as I should. It’s pretty much how I get my news.

Describe your perfect day

Probably getting up early and being productive. It annoys me when I don’t get anything done. That’s really sad though. Probably a Thursday too, because that’s when I play Dungeons & Dragons.

Tea or coffee?

Coffee.

How do you unwind after a long day?

Build my world for the D&D campaign that I’m running. It’s really rewarding creating NPCs, cities and lore for my players to interact with and care about. And most evenings end with an hour on the PS4 before bed.

Apple or Android?

Apple, for now.

What inspires you?

Learning new stuff. Being a self-taught developer is weird; you constantly feel like you shouldn’t know anything. But figuring out a particularly hard challenge or doing something advanced fires me up and makes me feel like I can conquer the world.

Favourite film/book/podcast?

Film: Independence Day Book: Cujo, probably Podcast: The Anfield Wrap, or Charged Tech

Morning or night?

Morning. I can’t hack staying up late anymore.

What would your desert island disc be?

Megadeth! System Has Failed

What’s been your proudest Big Lemon moment so far?

Getting our first project for a few hundred quid was pretty bad ass. The realisation that someone wanted to pay for what we were doing.

Describe your death row meal

Boring, but steak. With loads of chips and sides. With apple crumble and custard after.

If you could work anywhere, where would it be?

Space! Imagine the peace and quiet.

Curry or Chinese?

Curry. Chinese is boring.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

A pilot, until I didn’t enjoy flying too much.

What's your favourite part about your job?

Learning new things. Working with new tech. Expanding my brain.

And finally… Bounty – swerve, or accept?

Swerve mostly.
