So what does it mean exactly?
As a certified BCorp we’re now part of an amazing family of like-minded businesses around the world, all working to drive positive change on a local and global scale.
As a community of more than 4,000 certified B Corps meeting rigorous standards we're proud to be part of this inclusive movement using business as a force for good.
The layered assessment process measured our entire social and environmental impact. Verifying our performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and input materials.
They assess you from a holistic perspective, not exclusively focusing on a single social or environmental issue. Ensuring we demonstrate high trust levels between consumers, communities, and suppliers; that we are attracting and retaining employees. We will undergo a verification process every three years in order to recertify, meaning we are also focusing on continuous improvement, leading to long-term resiliency.
We’ve intentionally made the decision to align ourselves with the BCorp movement for a number of reasons. As a business, at the core of what Big Lemon does is building tech with purpose. We work on projects that make the world a better place in some way. We build life-changing products, software, tools, that enable our clients to make a positive difference to the world.
It’s about balancing profit with positive purpose and looking after people.
If companies consider more than just profits, and factor in their effect on people, communities and the planet, then the world would be a better place. We think this is plain common sense and an essential component of being the best business we can be.
Big Lemon identifies itself as being in the Tech For Good space. BCorp uses the strapline ‘Make Business a Force for Good’. A perfect synergy.
