Describe your perfect day
Wake up after an 8 hour coma with the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Whilst sitting on the balcony sipping said coffee I can survey the surf down on the beach - which will be the decider of how I start my day Surf or Run. Now filled with energy, my better-half and I take the kids down to the beach and and build sand castles and swim. After which we go to the local market and get some fresh produce for lunch and sit in the garden enjoying the sunshine together. Then spend the rest of the afternoon on a nice walk then off to the nearest vineyard for an early dinner with the kids running around. Once the mini beasts are snoring away we can relax with a nice red wine from the vineyard visited on the sofa watching a good series. Early to bed with a book and then pass out.
Of course this all takes place in my home town of Cape Town…
Tea or coffee?
I love a good cup of Joe/Mud/Jitter Juice/Bean Juice/Java, you get the idea.
How do you unwind after a long day?
Cook some good food and then relax with my other half watching a good suspense drama.

iOS.
What / who inspires you?
Single parents! I don’t know how they manage to do it. I have the utmost respect for them. Anyone who can stand up for what they believe in. People that have empathy for others.
Favourite film/book/podcast?
Tough one. Depending on mood these change, but right now:
Film: Inception Book: Dune by Frank Herbert Podcast: Tim Ferris, to learn things. And then The Nextmen for just some awesome music.
Morning or night?
Having 2 little kids, I cannot be a night owl any more. But becoming a morning person has made me appreciate what you can achieve with your day.
What would your desert island disc be?
Pearl Jam - Ten.
Describe your dream meal
King scallop starter, followed by a perfectly cooked Ribeye (preferably Kobe) accompanied by a Tasmanian Pinot Noir and then end it all off with a masterfully baked Chocolate Fondant.
If you could work anywhere, where would it be?
I like the simple things in life, I would love to work where it’s hot and I have a sea view.
Curry or Chinese or something else?
It's rare, but when you find good Chinese there’s few takeaways that beat it.
What did you want to be when you were a child?
Up until about 5 years old I probably wanted to be a superhero. 5 years old and upwards I wanted to be a professional surfer.
What's your favourite part of what you do for a job?
Building things that can solve problems, that is what I enjoy.
And finally… Bounty – swerve, or accept?
ACCEPT! It’s great as there are always loads left in the bottom of the box. So I’m always a winner.
