We are super proud to announce that we've been selected within the Best B Corps for the World, 2022, in the Workers category. 🎉
Tech for Good. It's a term - actually, scrap that - it's a movement gaining momentum as audiences expect brands to do good in the world.
We think it's more than just doing good. It's about putting purpose behind the good, mobilising people to do better, and building products that are a facilitator for that. That's why we build Tech with Purpose.
We started on our Tech with Purpose journey to build better, more sustainable, socially focused products that leave the world in a better place around two years ago. This focus was born from a place of alignment with the products we wanted to produce.
Many of our projects before this were focused on bottom lines, and streamlining processes for example. Whilst all worthy reasons to build custom software, they all had one thing in common, they were missing something we couldn't quite put our finger on; they weren't good for the soul.
We wanted to collaborate, create and build products that aligned with us as individuals. To create products that allowed others to do better in the world at large, and have a positive impact at its core. That's why we became a B Corp.
Fast forward approximately 24 months, and 100% of our projects now have a Tech with Purpose output. Everything we produce aligns with our mission statement of making digital products that leave the world in a better place.
We are proud to say that after two years of completing the B Corp assessment completion journey, certifying with 104 points, we are currently the highest-ranked B Corp in Wales.
"To achieve B Corp Certification, a company must meet a score of at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment, an evaluation of a company's positive impact, and pass a risk review, an evaluation of a company's negative impact; change their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders; and exhibit transparency by allowing information about their B Corp Certification performance to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab's website."
Today, there are around 5,000 B Corps across 80 countries and 155 industries, unified by one common goal: building an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economic system.
So what is Best for the World ™️?
Every year, Best for the World recognises the top-performing B Corps creating the most significant positive impact through their businesses. More than a badge of honour, Best for the World provides an opportunity for recognised companies to share knowledge, learnings, and best practices with the B Corp community and businesses outside of the community to encourage innovation and transformation across the business sector.
The Best for the World recognition is administered by B Lab, the global nonprofit network that certifies and mobilises B Corps.
"Each Best for the World edition is an opportunity to raise the bar for how businesses can and should operate to create real and lasting positive impact for their workers, customers, communities, and the environment,"
Dan Osusky, Head of Standards and Insights at B Lab Global.
"While no company is perfect and even the best companies can and should continue to strive to improve, the B Corps recognised as Best for the World can provide us all — standards setters, B Corps, non B Corps, and sustainability advocates — with inspiration on what true leadership in business can look like to make progress on addressing our current global challenges."
Being recognised in the B Corp worldwide ecosystem is outstanding. We are excited to continue our B Corp journey and achieve even more positive impact in the future, involving a wider community, and sharing learnings. It’s a privilege to gain this achievement, and it fuels our mission and commitment, and reinforces that we are doing the right thing for the right reasons, this journey will never end.
And here's a special shoutout to the BL team, because without you lovely lot, none of this would be possible. 💛
